The holidays are a time to enjoy our loved-ones, celebrate, practice the joy of giving and revel in our traditions.
We’ve been thinking a lot about Huntsville and how it shines so bright during the holidays. The perfect backdrop for this time of year.
But what makes Huntsville such a great compliment to the holiday good-will and Christmas spirit that we are all feeling, despite the 70 degree weather?
What does Huntsville Do Better During the Holidays?
1. Outdoor celebrations.
From Tinsel Trail to fun runs, Galaxy of Lights to Christmas parades, we love our outdoor celebrations. And even though bundling up cozy is fun, this 70 degree weather isn’t all bad!
2. Keeping our love of science & space front & center.
Both Sci-Quest and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center help us celebrate the holidays with an exploration of the science behind the holiday and a celebration of space. Christmas cheer in a true Huntsville fashion.
4. Christmas lights!
Some of the best can be found here!
5. Making our attractions part of the holiday fun.
Constitution Village becomes Santa’s Village. Burritt on the Mountain transforms into a showcase for old-fashioned and traditional Christmas. Huntsville Museum of Art shows off with an outdoor skating rink.
The Huntsville Botanical Garden turns into Galaxy of Lights. When Huntsville goes Christmas, they go big!
6. Something for everyone.
There truly is something for everyone, every age, every interest. From live theatre and ballet to The Living Christmas Tree, your kind of holiday fun can be found somewhere in Huntsville.
7. Celebrating tradition.
Luminaries in the historic district and good old-fashioned Kris Kringle in a historic mansion….Huntsville finds a way to keep traditions, perhaps the most important being the ones you have with your friends and family.
