Huntsville Symphony Orchestra: From the Alps to the Appalachians

Alpine tranquility pervades Austrian composer Josef Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D major, while Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring beautifully captures the essence of rustic early American life. Joined by acclaimed young pianist Aleksandra Kasman, the HSO brings an uplifting, outdoorsy program from the country hills to the concert hall for your enjoyment in the second of this season’s Fall Festival concerts.
The HSO is committed to offering live music in a safe environment. This concert will be approximately an hour-long without intermission, audience members and musicians will be socially distanced, and masks will be required.

The Living Christmas Tree
The Living Christmas Tree this year will be a pre-produced video broadcast that incorporates new music from a virtual choir and orchestra, new music from the 2020 guest artists, plus highlights from the Tree archives – all of this woven together with engaging narrative and testimony.
The broadcast will air via television, social media, and Livestream during the weekend before Christmas, December 17-20, times to be announced.

Fantasy Playhouse presents the familiar Christmas story, with a shadowy new twist! 5 actors, 4 spirits, 3 bell tolls, 2 possible endings, and 1 night that will change Ebenezer Scrooge forever! Through shadows, puppetry, and live foley sounds, a cast of 5 actors play multiple roles to inventively recreate the classic Dickens tale.
Developed especially for a virtual family experience, Fantasy Playhouse presents a new adaptation of “A Christmas Carol” to be enjoyed right from your living room! Join Scrooge on a tour led by ghostly visitors as he revisits his past and learns the fate of his future.

IMP Huntsville’s “All the World’s a Stage” drive-in cabaret takes you on a musical journey to destinations near and far! Enjoy the show as the talented cast presents a fun mix of musical theatre and popular songs about places around the world and how we get there. Social distancing for this event is encouraged, and can be practiced by staying in your car (the show will be broadcast to an FM channel on your car radio), tailgating, or sitting in chairs outside your vehicle. Our parking area is laid out with these options in mind, and there will be a designated seating area in front of the stage with socially distant spacing for those who want a closer look – but remember to bring your own chairs!
