Wacky Water Days @ The Whimsical Woods

Burritt on the Mountain is offering a fun and wacky way to cool off this weekend with Wacky Water Days in The Whimsical Woods! Kids will love playing the water games of yesterday and today. Get wet with our water features and splash pools. Go fishing like Tom Sawyer and ride the rapids like Huck Finn. The Whimsical Woods will be wet and wild July 10th – 14th.

Give Back Day-Village of Promise
@ Huntsville Botanical Garden, Friday 9am-6pm
The Garden is asking the community to help out Village of Promise by bringing in books appropriate for elementary school kids (Kingergarden-6th grade) to take home and keep as their own. In exchange for these books the Garden will offer free admission per person.

Tenneessee Valley Hunting and Fishing Expo

The TN Valley Hunting and Fishing Expo is a weekend entertainment experience that’s designed for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. A destination event for hunting, fishing and outdoor enthusiasts, as well as the top outdoor retailers and organizations, the expo will feature hands-on product demonstrations from a wide range of hunting and fishing venues.

Jazz Concert featuring Tom Braxton
@ Land Trust’s Historic Three Caves, Saturday, 7:30-10:30pm
The venue- Land Trust’s historic Three Caves – is a former limestone quarry at the base of Monte Sano Mountain. The musician- Tom Braxton- is “…one of smooth jazz’s most prolific saxophonists” according to JazzReview.com. Concert goers are encouraged to bring their own chairs and picnics. Dress is “Cave Casual” – jeans and closed toe shoes due to gravel. No pets or small children, please.

The Folk Mission Presents: Will Kimbrough
@ Straight to Ale, Saturday 7:30 – 10:30pm
When he’s not sharing studio and stage with folks such as Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris, the Jayhawks, Mark Knopfler, and John Prine, Will Kimbrough makes critically acclaimed records of his own. NPR says he “cranks out folk-rock that plays on the best traditions of both genres.” Don’t miss this show!
Show begins at 7:30 pm – get there early for gourmet food trucks, beers and mingling!
