Lauren Battle brought sparkles to AM Booth’s Lumberyard as the chair of the Junior League of Huntsville‘s 2013 Boots and Bling event, raising over $20,000 for the organization. And that is just one of her many volunteer gigs. When not getting sparkly for Junior league, Lauren also works with United Way’s Leader on Loan program and is a member of the Land Trust of North Alabama’s new Young Professional Advisory Board.
Her day job is at Allstate, where we caught up with her. But even here, Lauren injects a bit of serving the community. When we caught up with her, she was promoting the Allstate X the TXT campaign. And on that day, she was participating in Leadership Huntsville/Madison County’s Challenge program with local high schoolers asking them to take the pledge not to text and drive.
And yes, for those of you wondering, Lauren is part of THAT Battle family. In 2010, she married Drew Battle, son of current Huntsville mayor, Tommy Battle. Here is how to fun in Huntsville, Lauren-style. [spacer size=”5″]
Girls Night Out
My sorority alumnae group loves to get together at Mezza Luna for happy hour and somehow always end up staying for dinner. My faves are their Basil Lemonade Cocktail and the Mussels!
Takeout
We drive through Little Rosie’s and Tazikis at least once a week!
Coffee Shop
Our Saturday morning tradition in the fall and on not so cold winter days is to pick up a latte at Old Towne Coffee Shop and then take our black lab, Owen, up to Monte Sano for a walk! [spacer size=”0″]
Shop for Clothes
I love to shop at Personal Couture on Pratt! So many great tops and accessories!
Date Night
For a great date night we like to start with dinner at Commerce Kitchen and then end with a nightcap at Amendment XXI.
Shop for Home Décor
I am a big fan of Portobello and Golden Griffin. I literally want everything in both stores!
Entertain Out-of-Town Guests
My favorite place to take out of town guests is definitely the patio at Pane e Vino! Such a great view of the park and downtown plus the Mona Lisa pizza is delicious!

This article would be more well rounded if there were actual activities included, instead of just shopping, eating, and drinking. The only activities I see mentioned include going to parks/walking.
