So previously we debated “Sport or not a Sport” and a few people were upset…sorry. So on to another sports debate: “Is March really the best sports month of the year?”
March Is Nice
March is fantastic:
So many games
So many upsets
So much to watch
And of course filling out your brackets!
Just Basketball
This March has even been ramped up a bit with some high profile NFL free agents testing the market like Manning, Williams, Wayne, etc.
But its still just basketball.
The NBA is in full swing and I guess that’s OK. Baseball is around the corner (college is just cranking up) but its only basketball and for me that just doesn’t cut it! I have been in Vegas for the 1st weekend of the tournament & final four, and it’s a blast.
But its still just basketball.
March is great. It has the NHL, NBA, NCAA tourney.
But I need more.
The Best Month
There is no contest when it comes to the best month of the year for sports: November. Its not even close. Why?
- Major League Baseball postseason
- Football
- A bit of Nascar and MMA
Let’s start with the obvious: football. We live in college football country, and so obviously college football is king. So it just has to be included in this post. NFL is the tank to college football being the jeep. So naturally Sunday must be filled with pro football.
Then there’s baseball. I love Major League Baseball. The regular season is nice and all, but the World Series & League Championship Series are must see. You sprinkle in Nascar, MMA, NHL/NBA preseason and I give you November as the undisputed king of sports months.
November’s weather is cooling off and attending events is amplified. And being with family and friends for Thanksgiving while the pigskin is on TV? No debate! Just like swimming & cheerleading aren’t sports, March is not the greatest sports month of the year. March may be full of madness, but November full of games that we go mad to see!
