About Fantasy Playhouse
Since 1961, Fantasy Playhouse has been bringing the magic of theater to our community’s children. Operating as a nonprofit, their mission goes beyond producing theater to include theater education as well as community outreach to at risk populations. All roles in Fantasy Playhouse shows are performed by local community members, so if you (or your little one) ever feel the acting bug audition for a show!
The Fantasy Playhouse 2013-14 Season
The Fantasy Playhouse 2013-14 Season is filled with tales from literature like J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan and Charles’s Dicken’s A Christmas Carol as well as plays that put a new spin on classic stories like the Tortise and the Hare and Fariy Godmothers.
Peter Pan or The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up
The Story: Join Fantasy for the beloved story of Peter, Wendy, Michael, John, Capt. Hook, Smee, the lost boys, pirates and the indians, and, of course, Tinker Bell, in their adventures in Never Land. Come fly through your imagination as we create on stage this classic tale written by J.M. Barrie.
A Christmas Carol

The Great Cross Country Race or
The Hare and The Tortoise
- Performances: February 14-16 and 21-23, 2014

The Story: On Sports Day, the animals cannot find anybody to compete with the hare in the cross-country race until the slow-moving tortoise agrees to challenge him. The scatter-brained hare gets diverted during the race by his encounters with various humans, while the tortoise plods steadily on to the finish line. To add humor, the author has the audience understand the animals’ speech, but the humans all speak gobble-de-gook. Cheer for your favorite competitor in this adaptation by Alan Broadhurst,

If they can sweeten up Dulcie, they will win back their wands. Follow the exciting and hilarious events as the godmothers try every trick in their fairy manuals to create a loving and suitable princess for Prince Royal in this play by Jerry L. Twedt.
