I know you have been waiting with baited breath for my annual weird gift list, and probably got worried that it hasn’t shown up yet this year.

Have no fear though, it turns out that weird gifts are becoming easier to buy for your loved ones than “normal” gifts.
Yes, you could buy your special someone a sheet set, but how many of those do they already have? With more people needing advice in the art of “weird gift giving” my services have been a bit more in demand this year and I fell behind.
I honestly don’t know how Santa does it every year.
Since this is my “Last Minute Weird Gift List” let’s just jump right in.
Got a friend or loved one with a shellfish allergy? Let them cuddle up with this favorite Christmas party food, a stuffed cocktail shrimp. If the thought of this pillow isn’t weird enough, just check out this quote from the pillows description. “It is actually a neck pillow designed with the texture and hue of shrimp skin to a degree that feels amazing like a real shrimp.” Can’t you just imagine Homer Simpson going “MMmmmmmmm shrimp” as he cuddles to sleep?
If a cooked shrimp pillow wasn’t up your alley, there is always the loveable cockroach, which is supposedly the only creature that would survive nuclear devastation. This does seem to make the perfect gag gift though. Imagine your sibling walking into a room to find an almost 2-foot long cockroach sitting on their bookcase.
If I went the theme of the previous 2 gifts, this would obviously be a pillow made to look like an ostrich, but I fooled you, it’s not. This is a pillow that you can rest on your desk and then put your head and hands into ala an ostrich sticking its head in the sand.
I admit I am mixed on this gift. On one hand it looks interesting and easy to hide from the world, but on the other hand how would co-workers feel that you are avoiding them. On the other, other hand, this could be the perfect gift to get through a holiday family gathering.
Yes, this does count as a weird gift, but it is also quite awesome. Perfect for any bibliophile or even better for a gamer, this couple is trying to outrun a collapsing pile of books, games, or whatever challenge you wish to subject this daring couple to.
I wish they were on my mantle right now running away from my monster movie video collection.
In Shell Egg Scrambler and Whisk
You read that right.
Perhaps I am just not enlightened enough in the culinary world to really understand this gadget, and I may have had to read and re-read the description 10 times to understand it. If you already know what this is and want one, you my friend are enlightened. If like me you don’t immediately understand this, long story short, it whisks your egg white and yolk together inside the shell. Feel free to comment below with the practical modern uses of this, please.
Believe it or not, this is not something featured in the “Spatula World” skit of Weird Al Yankovic’s classic movie UHF, but a for real item that you can buy right now. This is one of those items that need no further description and it is no way practical, but if you want to ensure that special man in your life has his Man Card up to date, order this now.
A Die Hard Christmas: The Illustrated Holiday Classic in hardcover
We all know that DieHard is the ultimate Christmas movie even though it gets left out of the Best Movies Lists all the time. Perhaps the message is that we all secretly want out office Christmas party to be this action-packed, or perhaps it the action and witty dialogue. Whatever brings about your love for this unlikely Xmas classic, this hardcover classic belongs on your bookshelf; perhaps with some running character bookends?
Canned Edible Smoked Rattlesnake
If this is your first time visiting my weird gift list, you probably don’t know that every year I search out one weird canned food each year. The only rule is that they have to be edible, and I am always surprised at the variety of weird canned things available to eat. This year, I settled on smoked rattlesnake which considering the Rattlesnake Rodeo held each year in Opp, Alabama seemed a great choice for this years “weird thing in a can.” I’ve actually had fresh rattlesnake before and it was really pretty good, canning seems like the next obvious step for humanity.
